Comact thinks big and moves to Mirabel
The Optimization division of the well-established wood processing equipment company moves into 30 000 sq ft new facilities
Mirabel, September 1st 2015 – Comact, one of North America’s leader in the design and manufacturing of equipment for wood processing plants, announces the opening of new facilities in Mirabel, in the greater Montreal area, an important investment that will allow its people to operate and provide services in world-class facilities to its valued customers.
The new workplace will provide Comact, a Quebec subsidiary of British Columbia’s BID Group of Companies, with a dedicated space for testing as well as training for the company’s clients. The exceptional people and technologies of Boisbriand, QC, will be relocated to the new premises in Mirabel, enabling better customer service and the optimization of working methods.
“The project became a priority in June 2013″ says Brian Fehr, Chairman and Managing director of BID Group of Companies, about the relocation. “We wanted to be able to offer our customers an experience that matched the quality of products and services delivered by Comact,” adds Mr Fehr.
The new offices will house over 110 people in state-of-the-art spaces. The Optimization services, the after-sales service team and calling center as well as the administrative staff will settle there. “With these new developments, our working environment will be better suited for the preparation of equipment and it will facilitate teamwork, inducing change in our methods of work and, ultimately, will be a great added-value for our customers. Furthermore, our new area fully dedicated to customer tests will allow them to validate the potential of our products in a comfortable, realistic and safe environment” says Stéphane Desjardins, Vice President – Optimization.
The official opening of the new Mirabel facility is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8.
