As an Optimization Technician, you will perform service, maintain, install and upgrade systems from the Comact optimization product line at customers sites across North America.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete on-site customer service visits to ensure equipment meets quality and performance standards
  • Upgrade industrial (sawmill and planer mill) scanners with advance technologies
  • Electronics and hardware components technical problem solving
  • Provide training to customers
  • First responder to emergency demand service
  • Support customers remotely with software, firmware and hardware technical issues
  • Work irregular hours and overtime as required

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Have a diploma, degree or trade qualification in the electronics field or the equivalent experience
  • Electronics/hardware troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on industrial equipment
  • Hardware and software application knowledge
  • Ability to travel to mill locations in North America
  • Strong communication skills and customer oriented
  • Capability of working under-pressure
  • Experience working in an industrial environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of lumber industry and/or lumber grading ticket is an asset
