Uses
Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) products are used for below ground application such as preserved wood foundations for houses (CCA-PWF), posts and poles, and heavy industrial timbers and ties.
Production
For CCA treatment, a 60 foot by 6 foot double-door tube is used, followed by two 60 foot fixation chambers to ensure the chemical is bonded to the wood fibre. The wood is then returned to the kiln to be dried to the desired moisture content.
